Tanto amor (120×60), remake of Con toda el alma (1996), is the first telenovela launched by Azteca simultaneously on open broadcast and pay TV in Mexico on Monday August 3rd, at 8pm. In the US it will debut next Monday August 10th on Azteca America.The story, which deals with topics like gender equality, has already been sold to seven Latin American countries and will be one of the TV stations bets for the 2015 edition of Mipcom.Producer Rita Fusaro highlighted the work carried out by writers Mauricio Somuano and Gloria Bautista to adapt the script -originally launched 20 years ago- to modern times.During the presentation, Elisa Salinas, Directora of Azteca Novelas, reiterated the company’s commitment to take social content to the screen “through stories like Tanto amor and programs such as Lo que callamos las mujeres, aiming to reflect gender equality.Tanto amor is the story of two brothers linked by their blood but challenged by love. Starring Melissa Barrera and Leonardo García, the rest of cast includes Ofelia Medina, Omar Fierro, and Andrea Noli, among others.Con toda el alma was the first version of Pasiones (1988) and was produced by Elisa Salinas for Azteca in 1996, starring Andrés García and Gabriela Roel.
Azteca starts shooting the telenovela Tanto Amor, produced by Rita Fusaro
