The Mexican actor Eric del Castillo began shooting the historical miniseries Los Combates de Celaya (5×60’), directed by Miguel Rico, who assured they plan to launch it in September on a local channel in Guanajuato and on TV UNAM. They also have airing proposals through PCTV, Televisa and several networks in Spain.“Historical miniseries are very important because we can learn about ourselves as a country. We will spend five weeks shooting one episode every six days in film format, with one camera. The story is told from a human, youthful viewpoint. Our investment exceeds US$ 435,000, which is currently managed by Conaculta and we have the support of the government of Guanajuato”, he said. Eric del Castillo is both the producer and an actor in the series, that is a tribute to his place of origin: “The story will span from the 6th to the 15th of April, 1915, period in which the Division of the North, led by Francisco Villa, fights against the constitutionalist troops under the orders of General Álvaro Obregón”.
