Time Warner Cable Deportes launches series Más Allá De La Cancha
Time Warner Cable Deportes launched {Más Allá De La Cancha;http://tinyurl.com/pfanhjh}, a new, original series that highlights how the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Galaxy, Los Angeles Dodgers and LA Sparks are going beyond their sport to impact the lives of local area youth and families in the Hispanic community. Continuing Time Warner Cable Sports commitment to authentic depth and access programming dedicated to its team partners, Más Allá De La Cancha debuted on Monday, June 15th at 7pm PT with new episodes planned throughout the summer. The first episode of the series shows a number of local non-profit organizations supported by the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Galaxy. Among the stories featured is that of Dahiana Jacobo, a young woman who through her relationship with a mentor from the organization, Girls Today, Women Tomorrow, rose above the challenges in her life, and today is a mentor for the group and is giving back to other young women in her community. The premiere of Más Allá De La Cancha also showcases the LA Galaxy as they teamed up with the environmental group, Heal the Bay with LA Galaxy players, staff and volunteers coming out for a beach clean-up day. To close the debut episode, Time Warner Cable Deportes cameras bring Laker fans a behind-the-scenes look into the teams unique, Trees for Threes partnership with the non-profit, Tree People whereby Lakers sponsor, East West Bank supported the groups tree-planting efforts with each three-pointer scored by Lakers players during a select period from the recent regular season.
