Telemundo 40/KTLM announced an expansion to its local news operation designed to better serve the local Hispanic community in the Rio Grande Valley region.The station will enhance its current newscast, Noticias Telemundo 40 by welcoming a new team of anchors and expanding its live news coverage on weekdays at 10pm and on weekends at 4:30pm and 10pm.To support the investment in live, local breaking news and weather, Telemundo 40 has hired weekday news Co-Anchor Hugo Magallan and Weather Anchor Elizabeth Robaina. Hector Zapata has been promoted to Sports Anchor. The new anchor team, whose first day on air is September 2nd, will join news anchor Dalila Garza and Acceso Total entertainment reporter Mayra Galván weekdays at 5pm and 10pm. Ana Cecilia Méndez will anchor Noticias Telemundo 40 on Saturdays and Sundays at 4:30pm and 10pm.Telemundo 40, in its new phase, continues its commitment to better serve the Hispanic community in the Rio Grande Valley region.
