In anticipation of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, HITN-TV is presenting two new special programs. Tracing the full history of soccer from its beginnings back in the 16th century all the way to present day, Soccer in the New World relates the story of soccer with all of its political issues and controversies that directly impacted and shaped the game into what it has become today – the most popular sport in the world. And for a preview of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, featuring how the 32 teams are divided into groups, HITN-TV will present Vamos al Mundial, a look at the participating teams and their players, predictions, fans perspectives and their fanaticism. We are excited to offer our viewers an informative and unique two-part series that brings the story of soccer into focus and in addition, a program with a preview of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, said Florentina Balseca-Almonte, HITN-TVs director of Programming. Vamos al Mundial is a production of Baral Group for HITN-TV. It will be broadcast by HITN-TV Sunday, June 8th at 7pm ET/4pm PT. Soccer in the New World part one will be aired on Monday, June 9th at 9pm ET/6pm PT and also at 9pm PT. Part two will air Tuesday June 10th at 9pm ET/6:00 PT and also at 9pm PT.
