Bob Behar, president and CEO of Hero Broadcasting

When asked about the fate of his station KBEH Channel 63 Los Angeles, a CNN Latino affiliate, Bob Behar, President and CEO of Hero Broadcasting, told PRODU that although the CNN decision was unexpected, the station will continue to operate and that the vacuum left by CNN Latino will be filled with new programming. The CNN Latino programming block on KBEH starts at 3pm. This block is now scheduled to cease on March 6. The 12pm to 3pm block always belonged to the station.“Programming is not an issue because in the Los Angeles area there are several great independent producers. We’ll acquire some of this content to fill the vacuum,” said Behar. He pointed out the other stations of Hero Broadcasting are MundoFOX affiliates and are doing very well. “Especially Phoenix, Boston and Tampa. We’re very pleased with the appointment of Ibra Morales as President of MundoFOX: he knows the market well and we’re confident he’ll do things differently,” added Behar.
