Daniel Salcedo, founding partner of The Elevator
The Elevator, the three-year old New York-based production company headed by founding partner Daniel Salcedo, arrived at Natpe with several projects. These include the first season of the show City Guide (currently airing in Latin America on Turners pay-TV channel Glitz), for which the company is looking for a home on U.S. Hispanic broadcast and pay-TV.Its 16 half-hour episodes hosted by Mexican Nigma Shoura. The series takes viewers through flavors and interesting moments in NY, Buenos Aires and Mexico. Its a guide for the modern traveler, says Salcedo.The executive is also bringing to market several pilots and treatments covering different topics. We have a partnership with Mexicanal to develop a docu-reality series of a lucha libre character. Additionally, we have a new video game show produced in Mexico named Gamers TV, created for both on-air and online, added Salcedo.The company also has several concepts for webseries and musical projects.When asked about the U.S. Hispanic market, Salcedo said he sees new distribution opportunities and new channels, and points out the challenge is capitalizing on these. There have never been so many distribution outlets. Its important for these projects to succeed to validate the importance of the market, he added.
