The undocumented youth who call the U.S. home depend on proposed federal legislations such as the Dream Act, which has yet to be passed by Congress, and so every day 1.8 million young adults live in fear of having their dreams stripped away from them. In an effort to give each of them a voice, the movie Isabella was conceived, illustrating the story of a promising, smart and hardworking young Latina struggling to enter college amidst all the challenges and obstacles she faces due to her legal status and the outside forces working against her realizing her ambitions. Unlike many voiceless dreamers, she is able to take a stand for herself. Aiming to begin filming in the fall of 2013, the production team launched a {Kickstarter;http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/718371680/isabella} campaign to gather US$300,000 in funds by July 29th, turning to the innovative funding medium to gain supporters. We need the support of those that identify themselves in this film and those that believe that everyone should be allowed to pursue their dreams for all the rest out there whose voices are not heard and need motivation to never give up. We know that our goal is ambitious but we feel a deep sense of responsibility to bring this amazing story to the world, says Leevon Daniels, director and producer of Isabella. The film will be produced by Project8Films in Thomasville, Georgia. So far the project has received US$250,000 to produced the movie. Shooting of the movie is estimated to kick off September this year. The movie will be first exhibited in Sundance, Cannes, SXSW, LA Film Festival, followed by a wide theatrical release.
