Shine Latino: The experience of producing for U.S. Hispanic television has been terrific

Maribel Ramos-Weiner| May 31, 2013

“My experience producing for U.S. Hispanic television has been terrific, there is a lot of room for these types of productions and there is also a great demand for it due to the continued growth of the U.S. Hispanic market. Producing content locally, here in the U.S. also allows us to incorporate the local content and flavor and the possibility to use local stories too,” said to PRODU Cristina Palacio, president of Shine Latino. “The U.S. Hispanic market is thirsty for locally produced content in all genres, scripted as well as non-scripted programming. Throughout the years we’ve seen Hispanic TV demanding better content. Previously there was a lot of imported content. Now we find a wider offer that is produced in the U.S. Just to mention one, our recently launched second season of Minuto para Ganar, which is being filmed and produced in New York City,” she added.Palacio indicates there is a lot of room for these sort of productions and a huge demand, thanks to the continued growth of the U.S. Hispanic market.“The advertisers are very excited about the fact that Shine is producing more original content locally. They’re eager for product integration opportunities and looking forward to executing in very creative ways for this market.”
