VP of Sales and Marketing for North America at Castalia Communications

Mauro Páez-Pumar, new VP of Sales and Marketing for North America at Castalia Communications, is meeting cable operators across the U.S. to offer them a three-channel package: Mexicanal, Perú Mágico and Bandeirantes. With five months already on the job, Páez-Pumar met PRODU at his Castalia office in Dunwoody, Atlanta. He is enthusiastic about the new challenge in his career as a distributor: placing the channels of Castalia on a greater number of operators in the U.S.Páez-Pumar said the times when cable operators agreed to carry any Latino channel are long gone. Operators are more selective, have less available space, and are looking for a simpler way to market to Hispanic consumers.Mexicanal, a Castalia-owned signal, caters to the vast number of Mexicans in the U.S. who come from Mexico’s interior. Perú Mágico is a channel rich in programming and soccer, and Bandeirantes is the complement for those who carry Globo, he said.
