Florida Media Markets 6th Global Conference entitled The Bridge to the World brings 5 continents together for 5 days of pitching, deal-making and the first Shift Awards on January 30-February 3, 2013 at the Shelborne Hotel in Miami Beach. On Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 the gala will include The Shift Awards which will be honoring those who have made programming that has raised social awareness and made an impact globally. The host of the gala, award-winning singer/actress, María Conchita Alonso, along with stars such as Victor González, Sonya Smith, Gabriel Porras, Héctor Soberon, Laura Termini, among others, will be presenting awards to a winner in each category. Nominees for domestic and international programming include: A girl in Progress by Pantelion/ Lionsgate, American Idol by Freemantel, La Promesa by Caracol, Dónde está Elisa by Telemundo, Capadocia by HBO, Casos de Familia by Venevisión, among others.The event will also be awarding those who have made a difference in the entertainment industry including: Armando Núñez with the Distribution Lifetime Achievement Award, Olympusat´s Tom Mohler with the Visionary Award and Allan Schwalb with the Management Achievement Award.
