High Hill Entertainment advances the production of La chispa de chef Carmen Gonzalez, a program conceived by Marcello Coltro, senior VP and CMO of MGM Networks Latin America. The show will launch in September on Casa Club TV in Latin America and on Ella in the U.S. The program, which combines a reality and talk show, will air for 10 one-hour episodes, and the first six will be to find an assistant for the chef. La chispa de chef Carmen Gonzalez has two key players: Carmen Gonzalez from the U.S. contest show Top chef masters and Marcello Coltro, executive producer of the show. “Carmen evaluates the culinary talent of the candidates and Marcello their aptitude for being in front of the camera. Marcello does it naturally and he does it well, giving the show a lot of entertainment value” assured Carlos Mesber, general director of the program. A third judge, chosen by Samsung, an advertiser for the show, will evaluate the contestants’ knowledge of electrical home appliances. Production for the show begins in Portland, Maine, where Carmen recently opened a restaurant. The competition in search of an assistant will tour Guatemala, Panama, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. Winners from each country will travel to Miami for the last segment of the competition.
