According to the most recent Nielsen results, WAPA TV in Puerto Rico closed an unprecedented year. In the period between November 15th and December 14th, the channel led over 60% of the top 30 shows in all demographics.I believe that 2011 was an affirmation of our leadership. WAPA has transformed its programming offers into successes and the public has validated it. We anxiously expect that the new programming options for 2012 will maintain, strengthen, and reaffirm or four-year leadership in Puerto Rico, said Jimmy Arteaga, VP of Programming of WAPA TV.In the Homes (HH) demographic, WAPA recorded 19 of the top 30 places in ratings. Similarly, in Persons 18-49 the channel maintained its leadership in 25 of the top 30 shows.During the same period, the demographic Males 18-49 yielded 26 of the top 30 spaces, while Women 18-49 yielded 19 of the top 30 shows.The Nielsen results also reflect that the station led Puerto Rican free-TV every day of the week. Monday through Friday, the channel registered a 27.7% share for Homes, outperforming Univisión and Telemundo which obtained a 19.9% and 15.9% share respectively.In Persons 18-49, WAPA got a 28.3% share while Univisión registered a 16.7% and Telemundo a 14.3%. In Males 18-49, the channel registered a 29.9% share versus a 13.4% for Univisión and a 12.4% for Telemundo.In Women 18-49, the channel registered a 27.1% share versus a 19.2% for Univisión and a 15.7% for Telemundo.
