Alfredo Schwarz creates Fonovisión and rents Blue Dolphin Studios of Cristina Saralegui to produce novelas

Alfredo Schwarz, the Venezuelan producer who established himself in Miami in the mid 90’s with his company Fonovideo, which was later acquired by Televisa in early 2000, returns to producing with Fonovisión at Cristina Saralegui’s studios.On April 15th, the non-compete clause Schwarz had signed with Univisión as a consultant expired. The following day, on April 16th, Schwarz started preparing for his new company and visiting potential clients and partners to go back to producing telenovelas. Gata salvaje, was Schwarz’s most successful project during the Fonovideo era. He is credited with devising a formula to produce successful telenovelas with reasonable budgets.Marcos Ávila and his wife, Cristina Saralegui, built the Blue Dolphin Studios in 2001 west of Univisión in Miami, to house the daily production of Cristina. These studios will now be the headquarters of Schwarz and Fonovisión.
