Carlos Deschapelles
Univision Communications Inc. named Carlos Deschapelles senior vice president of Sports Sales. Deschapelles will oversee the sales of Univisións expanding portfolio of sports properties across all platforms. He will continue to be based in New York and will report to David Lawenda, president of Advertising Sales and Marketing, Univision Communications Inc.In this new role, Deschapelles will lead a dedicated team tasked with enhancing the companys multi-platform sports sales efforts. Mal Karwoski, José Garriga and Dan Flynn, all serving as vice presidents of Sports Sales, will report to Deschapelles.Under Carlos leadership, we are poised to deliver on a tremendous growth opportunity and communicate that Univision is the #1 place for the sports that matter to Hispanics across all platforms, said Lawenda.For nearly 25 years, Deschapelles has worked at Univisión in varying capacities. He started in 1987 as an account executive in New York where his success later garnered him a promotion to national sales manager at WLTV, Univisions owned and operated station in Miami. In a series of promotions, Deschapelles served as manager of National Spot Sales, and later as senior vice president of Network Sales. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Boston College.
