Televisa: Growth in the U.S. is a priority for the company

Emilio Azcárraga, President and CEO of Grupo Televisa, said to the Mexican press that, for now, it is a priority for the company to grow in the U.S. For this reason, he pointed out the group seeks to capitalize on its recent acquisition of Univisión stock. ({click here to read info related;http://www.produ.com/hispanictv/index.html?Noti=289})Last October, Grupo Televisa signed an agreement for the acquisition 5% of Univisión, and additional convertible instruments representing another 30%. In an interview for the daily Milenio, Azcárraga said the new partnership “will be a success for both companies,” and added they are finishing the last details to complete the acquisition worth US$1.2 billion.Regarding this, Televisa announced that last Monday 8th, expired the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino law, which mandates all proposed mergers be notified to the U.S. Department of Justice.
