Guillermo Sierra, Chief Content Officer of V-me Media, Inc.

(Maribel Ramos-Weiner, New York). After negotiations with IMG Media, V-me just acquired the broadcast rights for the U.S. Hispanic market to the Boxing World Series. This would be the first time the Hispanic channel would broadcast a sporting event.Guillermo Sierra, Chief Content Officer of V-me Media, Inc., explained to PRODU: “This is an important event because this is the first attempt to do boxing in an organized manner, because this is not the commercial boxing that we see in Las Vegas. It comes out of the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), and the International Olympic Committee. The competition will start on November 19th, and will extend until May of 2011 with fights every Saturday.”Sierra pointed out that initially they acquired the rights for the first season only, but it is an event that will grow and they expect to carry it moving forward. “This is something that will go very far. Other conferences around the world will join and there already are teams in Asia and Europe as well,” added Sierra.
