Alberto Santini Lara, Executive Vice President of Programming, Marketing and Production for Azteca América and General Director of Azteca 13 and Azteca Novelas
Alberto Santini, who holds three positions at Grupo Azteca, General Director of Azteca Novelas and Azteca 13 and Executive VP of Programming, Marketing, and Production at Azteca América, told PRODU that they will continue taking risks by weaving novelas in a different fashion. As an example, he cited La loba, which currently airs on Azteca 13, and which he sees as the best telenovela in the entire Mexican territory.In a conversation at his Azteca Novelas offices in Calzada de Miramontes, Santini took inventory of his 14 months on board wearing the three hats. He highlighted new projects such as Premio Azteca: a gala event including a red carpet with international stars, where they will honor the best of their shows and talent, both for acting and technical merit. Similarly, he highlighted La academia bicentenario, where they are casting participants from every state in Mexico and every country in the region, whom will sing to Mexico on its bicentennial.Santini also praised the novela Entre el amor y el deseo, their first co-production with Globo of Brazil, featuring a world-class cast and breathtaking locations. He spoke about a new police-themed miniseries that is being developed and the upcoming tapings in September in Colombia of A corazón abierto, the Latin version of Grey’s anatomy of Disney, which is sweeping ratings in the Colombian market.
