Within the framework of the Social Media Week Mexico 2023 event, Daniela Guerra, Responsibility leader for YouTube en Español, shared her perspective on the trends that are shaping the most important video platform in the world and how these have impacted both creators and users.One of the most notable phenomena she mentioned was the growing personalization of content. “For new generations, it is no longer important that their friends are watching the same thing as them; instead, they want the focus to be what seems important to them and finding new friends who believe that topic interesting.” In her view, this has led to creating communities in specific niches, where people connect over topics that interest them, even those considered more unusual.She highlighted that the integration of generative artificial intelligence in YouTube is closing gaps in the ability to create video content. She mentioned new tools like Aloud, allowing automatic translation of the content from English to Spanish or Portuguese, and other applications, allowing users to convert text into videos with custom backgrounds without complex production.
