Jimmy van der Heyden, sales manager at CDC United Network, said they have sold content from their catalogue to AVOD and FAST channel operators. ”:This is all about a new trend and a new window of opportunity for exploriting bookstores that we’re thinking about. We have already reached several agreements for the sale of content to AVOD and FAST. We don’t want to go too far too fast nor hand them our entire catalogue. We want to see how that window of exploitation can grow and how the presence of advertisers can grow to show that this window economy makes sense,” he said. He explained that the AVOD and FAST windows allow giving a second life to certain content titles, and is a new way to monetize the operation, which undoubtedly is something to take into account looking toward the future. “”These free-on-demand models or eventually linear models are something that will logically interest the consumer because it’s another way to make use of multi-platform content,” he said.Van der Heyden repeated that they definitely want to protect the global value of their book catalogue by not exposing it too swiftly in these windows. “We want to take it step by step,” he said.
