Marcos Cline de Altered. LA
Altered.LA has been growing in three areas: advertising for the Hispanic market; the creation and production of long-form content for streamers; and the expansion of services that reach Mexico through its office. “We’re providing a lot of production services…so we’ve managed to strike a pretty good balance that allows us not only to grow the company but also to have a little more peace of mind,” said Marcos Cline, executive producer and founder of the production company. The company has developed content in streamers for Netflix and ViX.”Production experienced a boom but now clients are beginning to tighten their budgets, so maybe there’s going to be an adjustment in the volume of work. We’ve just got to wait and see. The idea is what decides – if you come up with a good idea the client will buy it and it’ll be up to you to produce it,” Cline said At the production level there’s been no stop to exploring new opportunities including storytelling. One example of that was a real-life experience, in which DJ Marshmello was made into the leading character of a video game. “We rented the studios of Baja Studios – which were built for the filming of Titanic – and we created a 2km x 2km wireless net so we could fly drones, cameras and all that. In a control room. the video went to the channel of a Twitch celebrity who was making an online streamer and who asked his audience what decisions the main character ought to take.”
