Ana Oliveras, CEO of Squarebox, said there has been a growth in the world of esports, and in recent years a new way to relate esports with brands. “Squarebox was born of the marketing sector’s need to get more professional in the field of esports and of digital entertainment by means of training systems for users who wish to learn the adequate strategies or have already been down that road,” Oliveras said. Within the setting of Hack MAFIZ 2022, the executive said that 12 years ago there was rather a lack of interest in the subject of esports and digital entertainment, but as time passed there has been such a growing appearance of clubs and players that brands have begun to take notice. “We previously had brands related to the sector, but now its potential is such that any kind of brand will join in. From haberdashery brands to women’s cosmetics. Which is to say, anything that wasn’t previously related to video games has now entered to take part or has become interested in the esports games.”
