Second Chances
For its campaign Second Chances for Donate Life California, the Casanova//McCann agency was shortlisted in the Creative Effectiveness category at the 2021 Cannes Lions Festival. The category honors the measurable impact of creative work. The project shows the value of offering a second chance to drivers guilty of traffic violations if they are registered organ donors. This is, in other words, a “thank you” for those who give citizens in danger of death the chance to stay alive. Production was in the hands of Craft Worldwide New York, D’Avant Garde Media Santa Monica, 4K Film Production Cochrane, JSM Music Nueva York and Truelove Post Culver City. The spot shows people being arrested, but at the moment they are given a ticket that means they will have to pay a fine, they are given a “second chance,” because their driver’s license is stamped to show they are organ donors. In its 2019 edition, the Second Chances campaign won five Lions and 10 shortlists, while in that same year it won multiple prizes at such awards ceremonies as the Clios, LIA, DA&D and Ad Stars. Moving on to 2020, the agency was similarly honored at the Cresta Awards, NFY Advertising Awards and D&AD Awards.See campaign.
