Tuesday Collective and Circle of Sound announce the launch of their joint venture, Citizen. Citizen Music is an unparalleled library built specially for advertising focused on exceptional, live recordings that elevate branded content to new levels. Citizen will be headquartered in New York and Los Angeles but will operate nationally and inter- nationally. With the size of the worldwide digital advertising market estimated to amount in 2019 to $316 billion (2018, $273 billion), the market for production music has grown to be worth an estimated $4 billion globally. The use of music libraries for advertising has been inhibited by the importance placed in branding on exclusivity and the need to be able to customize tracks. Citizen Music will be able to satisfy those requirements by offering licenses on an exclusive and non-exclusive basis and will be able to customize all tracks when requested to do so. To meet the demand for fast turn around in post-production, Citizen has invested in its library of high quality recordings that can be provided to advertisers instantaneously and customized to order. Tuesday Collective, founded and managed by Theo de Gunzburg, is based in New York City and has provided the music for brands such as Ford, Gatorade, Metlife, WWE, Xbox and Stoli Vodka, amongst others. Circle of Sound, founded and managed by Nicolas Barry and Tomas Jacobi, is based in Los Angeles, and and has worked on music for brands such as Samsung, Toyota, Bacardi, Ikea and Samsung, as well as scoring the acclaimed Netflix show Brickleberrry.
