Ed Rivero Cortez Brothers
Ed Rivero, Managing Director of Cortez Brothers, said that 2018 was a good year for the company. Its crew produced digital pieces along with traditional commercials and content for the general market together with its partner company, Havoc Content. “Our roster of directors is very solid, the best we have had in the last three or four years, but as always, we are open to discovering and signing on talented men and women who are as passionate about directing as we are about producing,” he said. He noted that their best shoots in 2018 included ads for Toyota, AT&T, Bank of America and Walmart. “Some of these works were done by our new directors and some by the ones we have always worked with. It was a good way to revitalize our existing relations and start new ones. The World Cup made it a great year, because we were able to tap into all that excitement over soccer.” In 2019 the agency plans to work along the same lines as it is doing now. “We are seeing an increase in shoots abroad, more digital work (though mixed with traditional commercials) and more shooting in Mexico, which we love, because it has always been like a second home for us. Argentina, Uruguay and even Puerto Rico are also on our radar because we want to support those communities, as well as make use of the film directors and production facilities there. In the case of Puerto Rico, it’s important for us to help rebuild its economy as they recover from the hurricane,” he said.
