Llauró: A varios mercados les hace falta soltarse un poco más
Robert Llauró has directed commercials in various international markets. He currently lives in New York and is represented by Landia in the U.S. He feels that good work is always good work, regardless of the place or language.“It is a privilege to be able to work jumping from one continent to another, for different markets. And that makes you realized that at a certain point, it all converges. The quest to surprise, to excite, has nothing to do with where you are. In such a globalized world and with so much going on in digital, segmenting is strange. What I like the most is conveying sensations, not only with each image but by juxtaposing them. And we all feel in pretty much the same ways” he pointed out. “Today products are not determined by places but by the emotional mindset you imprint on stories.”He highlighted that several markets, including the Hispanic market, need to be more loose. “To be less rigid with ideas and to be more sensorial” he added. The stories that Llauró enjoys most are the ones that are human, but when they aren’t told with facts but with sensations. “I think the nicest advertising and cinema is the one that doesn’t say or show, but makes people use their intuition” he said. “I think the nicest things happen almost by accident in real life, and I try that to be the atmosphere in my work. I try to seek perfection within imperfection. Or the mistake of the moment.”
