To promote Latino participation and visibility in the film industry, Hispanicize, Latino Filmmakers Network and SAG-AFTRA are joining efforts to attend to the Sundance Film Festival. They will be presenting the panel discussion, Latino Horizons: Sustaining Your Career After the Festivals. “Hispanicize is excited to produce this forum and mixer celebrating Latino filmmakers and talent at this years’ Sundance” said Calixto Chinchilla, Hispanicize Director of Filmed Entertainment. He added that they had to return to Sundance after the success they had last year. The mission of Latino Filmmakers Network is to expand the role of Hispanics in the industry by providing venues for them at the world’s most prominent film festivals. In the event, they will be encouraging the inclusion of Latinos whose films have been selected by the festival and creating a nucleus of continuing support, community, education and knowledge. “With Hispanicize’s partnership we are once again in a strong position to host a networker that will significantly amplify Latinos presence at such a significant world gathering” said Maylen Calienes, Founder of Latino Filmmakers. “Our growing presence in this signature initiative created by Calienes is all about bringing attention to under-represented Latinos in the film industry” said Manny Ruiz, Hispanicize Media Group’s CEO and Founder. The panel will be presented by SAG-AFTRA and sponsored by MIB Insurance Services and Cafe Machu Picchu. The event, which counts on the participation of filmmakers, industry executives, agents and the entertainment community, will take place next Monday at 3 P.M. in Park City, Utah during the festival.
