Keba Williams and Erik Núñez became partners in 2014 to create Labrat, a musical and audio production studio based in Miami, that stemmed from the dream of joining a family of artists with diverse sounds and ideas.“In Labrat we are all true artists, not differentiated only by multiculturality. Each one has his own music project and style” highlighted Nuñez. The team is comprised by Keba Williams, Founder, Composer and Director; Erik Núñez, Founder, Producer and Composer; Dominic Anton, Specialist in Media and Events Coordinator; and Paul Rabut, Composer and Drummer. Kristen Spencer, Aymber Danielle, Tamika J, Ed Raulz and Amy Ione Alvarado are the studio’s Singer/Songwriters. One of their bets is the Song Lab, a space open for Singers and Writers to create new pieces in 40 minutes. The process is transmitted on Facebook Live. “With the Song Lab we are encouraging the development of our community and its culture” added Williams. “We are very excited about 2017. Although the political situation appears to be complex, I think that people are increasingly committed and connected. This will also be reflected on brands and we will make our best effort to celebrate and represent multiculturality.”The company has a broad scope of musical influences, so it has found an important place in the market. They recently won two Clio awards for the Stella McCartney vs Stella spot they made together with Danilo Lauría from Fusion Media. Núñez made the entire sound design. Their latest projects include a piece for McCormick that they made together with Right Cut Media and ALMA.
