Audiencia multicultural
The IAB Multicultural Council recently met to reassess and strengthen its mission of promoting vibrancy, strength, and growth of the multicultural marketplace in the digital media field.The realities of a rapidly changing media landscape make IAB’s role of bringing together publishers, tech enablers, brands, and buyers, to discuss ways to reduce friction in the marketplace, seem especially important. The core focus of IAB is interactive advertising, publishing, and media, however, marketers must talk with consumers of diverse perspectives and worldviews in order to be and stay relevant with their audiences. In his opening speech at the council’s 4th quarter planning meeting, Diego Antista, U.S. Multicultural Agency Head at Google, and Co-Chair of the IAB Multicultural Council, addressed the IAB community and the entire media industry to ask they stand together and express the importance of diversity as an essential founding value in America. “Today more than ever as the IAB Multicultural Council, we should stand together to raise our voice and presence to ensure the Multicultural communities of this country are heard, valued, and included.” The group agreed to launch a working group for the creation of a Comprehensive Guide to Multicultural Digital Marketing that will serve as a reference for all things multicultural in the digital advertising space, supporting core values of diversity and inclusion and at the same providing best practices and guidance for the development of more relevant marketing and communications.
