Isaza: Las agencias independientes son un complemento fundamental de la industria
DDB Latina Group’s VP Strategic Planning and Social Media, Juan Isaza attended the first edition of the World Independent Advertising Awards (WINA) creativity festival that took place on November 10th and 11th in Buenos Aires. He was jury and also gave the presentation called “I rather be influential than rich.” “Many times the greatest capital that independent agencies have, which it’s no small thing, are ideas. And with this capital they accomplish to build influential brands” he said. For Isaza, this festival is a great opportunity to look at the industry from a different perspective and he highly values it. “I was delighted to attend and for me the conferences were very good, and top level. I felt very excited of speaking beside such globally recognized people of the industry like Fernando Vega Olmos, and I truly believe that this is a very nice way of approaching festivals.” As jury, he saw very interesting cases, and he explained that the level is different because there are many types of ideas. “I want to highlight the business model that WINA created as festival in which agencies only pay if they win awards. It’s a fresh proposal for approaching festivals and I believe that the industry is going to look at them with interest.” He noted that in an industry such as communications, having different actors is always rewarding. “Despite I enjoy a lot the advantage of belonging to a network, I will dare to say that independent agencies are a crucial complement for the industry.”
