Teads announced an important innovation for vertical video that allows advertisers to turn existing TV creatives into vertical video appropriate for smartphones and deliver it into premium editorial environments. This new feature is completely free for all Teads’ clients.Helen Lin, President Digital Investment at Publicis Media, spoke about the relevance of Teads’ innovation: “It’s great to see Teads’ latest development with vertical video and how it provides a real benefit for advertisers. Consumers are increasingly viewing vertical content on their mobile devices but it’s a heavy lift for brands to generate vertical video.” She said that “now that they can easily transform landscape creative into vertical, it stands to have a huge impact on how brands reach consumers on mobile.”Consumers are now used to seeing video in portrait because it fits more naturally with their mobile devices. A recent Teads’ study revealed that ad recall on vertical video was 2.9 times higher, and viewers exposed to vertical video were 39% more likely to have a favorable opinion of the advertised brand, but it is costly for advertisers to make entirely new vertical videos. According to Bertrand Quesada, CEO at Teads “Teads understands the unique challenges facing advertisers in a world that is quickly becoming mobile-first. We are very excited to bring this advancement to the industry and anticipate it will have a tremendous effect on our customers’ ability to successfully reach users on their mobile devices.”
