The Community made its version of the videoclip Milkshake by Kelis to promote Verizon’s prepaid plan. The popular song that was a hit in 2003, is back thanks to the phone company, making reference to the Hispanic market’s humorous and cultural gigs. The ad was shot in a diner in which a group of young businessmen are comparing their prepaid streaming plans. One complains about his connection speed and the other answers to the beat of Milkshake: My prepaid brings all the gigs to the plan, my network is better than yours. This is followed by an entire musical video that refers to the original one and shows comedy scenes linked to all the things young people use their phones for.It is running on digital and social platforms in Dallas, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington DC and Phoenix, as well as across Verizons social media channels to reach a cross-cultural audience. The goal of the campaign is to clean the bad reputation of prepaid phone packages.”Verizon prepaid gives people control, but also gives them freedom.
