Sprint & ALMA create The Last Emoji to warn about the dangers of texting and driving

To create awareness about the dangers of texting and driving, the telecommunications company Sprint and the Hispanic agency Alma joined efforts to create The Last Emoji, a sculpture made from junkyard wrecks that warns Miami drivers of the dangers of this activity. The campaign, that follows the Distracted Driving Awareness initiative released in April, includes the “DN’T TXT & DRIVE” message, encouraging drivers to avoid texting and driving. In social networks Floridians can post a picture or selfie with the sculpture using the hashtag #SprintDriveSafe. The hashtag is already starting to buzz in Sprint’s English and Spanish social channels. Sprint and Alma chose Miami as the location for the sculpture, and placed it there April 29, because in Florida texting while driving is not listed as a primary offense. However last year there were more than 45,000 crashes from distracted drivers, 200 of them resulting in fatalities and over 39,000 injuries.
