One of the most debated topics on the third day of the seventh annual Hispanicize 2016 was how to have a successful brand presence in the digital world. NBC News and MSNBC’s staff said the digital world requires skilled personnel and dedication in the same way as traditional media. Sandra Lilley, NBC News Editor assures that the star in the digital world is without doubt a powerful story. In social networks great content is key to enchant the audience she said. Nisha Chittal, Social Media and Community Manager at MSNBC is in line with this idea. She said that human-interest stories, where people have names are the most popular in the networks. She explained that part of the work of her team is properly preparing their spokespersons and staff for a proper use of social networks. “For a long time now, content is not only consumed through TV screens only; there are some people that only consume content through networks.” Morgan Radford NBC News Anchorwoman added that when she faces the digital world -which doesnt happen in TV- “you should be prepared to deal and know how to answer to your followers, which is one of the great strengths but also a great challenge for who takes a peek into the digital world.” The session was led by the Journalist and Telemundo Anchor, José Díaz-Balart.
