WPP group announced that Gustavo Martínez resigned as CEO of J. Walter Thompson in a mutual agreement with the group. He will be replaced by Tamara Ingram, current Chief Client Team Officer at WPP.Ingram was in charge of overseeing the group’s 45 global account teams, which represent a third of their revenue, with more than 38 thousand employees. She joined WPP when she entered Kantar in 2003.On the other hand, Martínez was recently involved in a scandal after The New York Times published a lawsuit in which the agency’s Global Communications Director, Erin Johnson, accused him of making racist and sexist comments. The case is in the hands of a federal court.The executive joined WPP in 2014 as Global President of the JWT after serving as President of IPG McCann Worldgroup’s Europe and Asia wings. He was promoted to global CEO in January 2015.
