Hispanicize 2016 and DiMe Media announced on February 25th that nominations are officially open for the Tecla Awards. This second edition is presented in partnership with Telemundo and will take place on March 7th in Miami. The event will include eight new categories: Best Latin artist using social media; most admired Latino Celebrity on social media; Best broadcast or cable network doing social TV; Best Snapchat, Vine and Instagram storyteller; Creator of the year (selected by the public), and the Social Innovation Award (presented by Telemundo). These awards honor excellence in U.S. Latino online video, blogging, media, marketing and those who create it. For this edition the public is invited to nominate their favorite creators for any of the more than 20 themed categories. “This is the Golden Age for Latino creators as brands, agencies and media companies themselves recognize that all traditional media paradigms are shifting to online” said Manny Ruiz, Founder and Creative Director of Hispanicize and the Tecla Awards. “The 2016 Tecla Awards captures this evolution and will raise the bar for the creators, media and marketing industries that comprise the U.S. Hispanic online community.” “We are incredibly proud to be presenting the coveted 2nd Annual Tecla Awards” said Borja Pérez, SVP of Digital and Social Media for NBCUniversal Telemundo.
