La tecnológica de Silicon Valley compró Emotient que mide sentimientos como alegría, sorpresa, entre otros
Apple is clear about its bet on small tech and artificial intelligence enterprises and this time its goal is to get to know consumers. With the purchase of Emotient, an artificial intelligence startup, they will be able to read users’ emotions by analyzing their facial expressions. Emotient’s technology analyzes facial expressions to measure feelings such as happiness, surprise, fear, rage, disgust and to help advertisers evaluate consumers´ reactions to products. According to specialists, this new acquisition would help Apple monetize information for advertisers. Although the details of the deal have not been disclosed, the recently acquired company had gathered US$8 million from investors, which include Intel Capital. In the past, the Silicon Valley tech company purchased Faceshift, a 3D motion capture company that was used in the new Star Wars film. VocalIQ, a British company, developed a voice recognition software that could help Siri sound and talk more human-like.
