Instagram and Snapchat continue moving the world of digital marketing. A study by eMarketer revealed that currently 32% of US companies with more than 100 employees uses Instagram for marketing efforts. That number will reach 49% in 2016 and jump to 71% by 2017. The study suggests that in two years Instagram will be more popular than Twitter for advertisers. According to the same study, 88% of companies in the U.S. will use during 2015 at least one social network to do marketing. Snapchat CEO, Evan Siegel and his team commented that the new advertising product, Sponsored Selfie Filters -a new ad unit from Snapchat-, will reach 16 million viewers per day. The ad purchase will cost a maximum of US$700 thousand per day. Snapchat discovered at the start of 2015 that between 60% and 70% of video ads were discarded after three seconds. Coca-Cola managed to beat this trend by creating content specifically designed for the app, together with the Snapchat team.Twitter is offering a new product, Conversion Lift, that allows measuring effectiveness of brands’ Promoted Tweets. The company indicated that people who see Promoted Tweets are 1.4 times closer to interact with the brand.
