Tim Cook, CEO de Apple

Apple CEO, Tim Cook, explained at the Wall Street Journal WSJDLive conference in California, that “the automotive industry is at the precipice of massive change”. He ennumerated ways in which vehicle manufacturers can evolve and pointed out they must pay attention to the importance of software for cars, the increase of autonomous vehicles and the shift from an internal combustion engine to electrification.Cook was interviewed onstage by WSJ executive editor, Gerard Baker, and refused to talk about a possible electric car that Apple would be developing for 2019. The CEO said that in the short term, Apple is working to take the iPhone experience to vehicles through CarPlay. This is a mechanism that allows people to access their iTunes music collections or get driving directions from its mapping software without touching their phones.”We’ll see what we do in the future” Cook said, but, “I do think that the industry is at an inflection point for massive change.”He also answered questions regarding the performance of the Apple Watch, and explained that they are seeking to transform the television experience with Apple TV, spoke about the status of Apple Music and its subscription service and about the new and improved operating system of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
