Facebook is preparing Notify to compete with Twitter´s Moments

Facebook will launch Notify, a Windows Tray application that connects Facebook and notifies you when you get a new message, a friend request or any news considered relevant according to the user´s profile. This will be a way to combat the launching of Twitter´s Moments. With the new tool, the social network will have the exclusiveness of sharing important news before anyone else, thanks to the option of sending notifications. It is not clear if Notify will be directed only at Facebook people who use Instant Articles to reach their audiences like The New York Times or National Geographic does. Although Facebook didn´t reveal details about Notify, according to Gigaom, the application will be launched next 2015. It will have a bigger audience than Paper.
