Maya: El objetivo de esta nueva empresa es sonorizar cine y TV y generar contenidos multiplataforma enfocados en música

Mixto Musicworks! is the new division of Mixto Music, founded by Café Tacvba’s singer, Rubén Albarrán, J. Carlos Maya and entrepreneur, Miguel Ascencio. Their goal is creating film and TV scoring, and producing multi-platform content focused on music. Maya talked to PRODU about how this venture began. “Ruben is a musician that I’ve always admired for his great talent. We had been talking for some time about how we could combine each of our talents with film and TV scoring, a passion we both share” he explained. “Ruben had the opportunity of traveling to many places with Café Tacvba, so the idea of finding ways of telling the musical story of each place is another subject we have decided to explore through the creation of original content. The first Mixto Musicworks!’s project is a trip and music show with Ruben as host, aiming to show the cultural and artistic richness of different US and Latin American cities, including also interviews with local figures from different backgrounds.” For Maya, Miguel Ascencio is a key member of the team. “He has a lot of experience in new businesses development and he will be working from Mexico City. The idea is creating strategic societies with other companies and DF is a strategic location in terms of production.” Besides the traditional marketing efforts, the team is talking to producers, directors and creatives in order to offer their services and explore new partnerships.
