Las fotos serán reconocidas por una aplicación biométrica que autorizará la compra

The credit card company, MasterCard, plans to let customers make their purchases with a selfie. The person’s picture will be recognized by a biometric application that will approve the transaction. The aim of the initiative is to combat fraud, encourage mobile commerce and make buying processes easier for millennials. The company is testing a face recognition application that will soon be ready. When it comes to online purchases, most of us can agree that passwords are a real problem”, said Jane Khodos, VP & Business Leader, Worldwide Communications at MasterCard. “People forget them often and it’s a pain to go through the retrieval process. Consumers that dislike passwords have a choice to secure their online payment transactions with their face and/or fingerprint, or continue to use passwords”.Research carried out by Acquity Group, a digital marketing unit of Accenture Interactive, revealed that sellers who fail to develop enhanced payment security measures for mobile shopping will lose 21% of their customers.
