El Weed Advisor busca que las personas no manejen bajo la influencia del cannabis
The recent legalization of marijuana in certain parts of the US have had negative consequences throughout the country: it increased dramatically the amount of people who are driving under the influence of cannabis. The NGO We Save Lives, in charge of prevention and safety on the road, partnered with Bravo/ Y&R and made an awareness raising campaign called Weed Advisor. The campaign was made known in an unconventional format that was, nevertheless, very appropriate for conveying the message to marijuana smokers: rolling paper. This paper for smoking has an illustration that becomes animated when people roll the marijuana and it simulates a car crash. At the end it presents the message: “Marijuana makes you react slower, don’t smoke and drive”.The launching of Weed Advisor was made in the framework of the International Cannabis Week in Denver. During the event they handed out for free two thousand packages of papers with the driving awareness message. This idea allows us to have an active role in the education of marijuana smokers and teach them that the idea that people can drive carefully after smoking marijuana is not healthy”, said Candace Lightner, President and Founder of We Save Lives. Although the NGO does not take position regarding the legalization of medicinal and recreational use of cannabis, it works to prevent people from driving while they are drugged.
