Traffic accident statistics in Argentina are among the highest in the world. Most of these accidents occur in situations related with passing vehicles that are in front. In a country with hundreds of one-lane routes, Samsung and the agency Leo Burnett developed a technology for trucks that can change that forever: The Safety-Truck. This invention has a wireless camera in front of the truck, connected to a 4-monitor screen of the exterior, located on the back of the truck. That way the camera transmits what is ahead of the truck so that those who travel behind can see what is taking place in front of it and thus make the decision of passing the safest way possible. This technology also eliminates the risk of the possibility of the truck halting in an untimely manner due to another accident on the route or an animal crossing. Samsung always seeks to enrich people´s lives through their innovative technologies. With Safety-Truck we went a bit further, because it not only improves people´s lives, but it could also save them, said Fernando Bellotti, President of Leo Burnett Argentina and Regional Creative Director for Latinoamérica. The idea, originally led by Luis Sánchez Zinny and Carmelo Maselli, and was developed together with the technology company Ingemática and will be competing in Cannes Lions 2015.
