Brands interested in connecting with millennials must definitely consider including Snapchat among their digital strategies. According to a study carried out by the firm Global Web Index (GWI) about tendencies in social networking, the application is one of the favorites and of bigger growth in this group.84% of Snapchat users is less than 35 years old, compared to the audiences of other social messaging applications, like WhatsApp and Facebook where this group is 63% y 64%, respectively.Some markets have a higher penetration than Snapchat among teenagers. Thus, for example, more than 40% of the group uses the application in Ireland, Sueden, Canada, Belgium, the United Kingdom and the US, where it is even more popular than WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger.The study concluded that out of all the social applications studied by GWI, Snapchat is the one with the strongest growth rate among 16 to 19 year old users. In fact, they have a greater tendency to use Snapchat, 3.5 times more than the average user of Internet, according to the study. It is also the fastest growing application: it accumulated 45% with respect to 2014, preceded by LINE, 57%, and Facebook Messenger, 53%.It is a matter of time before teenagers also consider it the coolest. Meanwhile, YouTube has the lead with 20%, followed by Instagram 16%, Facebook 14% and Tumblr 13%. Snapchat achieved 12%, and is the most recently launched.
