Más de tres cuartos de las mujeres hispanas no saben que el cáncer de pulmón ha matado a más mujeres que el cáncer de mama

The American Lung Association has decided to draw attention to the leading cause of cancer of death in women. A survey conducted by the organization, is fighting to save lives by raising awareness of lung health.According to a first research on lung health of women, which assessed the level of awareness, knowledge and perceptions of women on lung cancer, reported that only 1% of Hispanic women pay attention to symptoms of cancer spontaneously.Taking advantage of the situation that November was the Awareness Month Lung Cancer, Lung Force revealed that only 23% understands that less half of women diagnosed with lung cancer will be alive a year later. In addition, more than three quarters of Hispanic women do not know that lung cancer has killed more women than breast cancer every year since 1987.”The survey also showed that when educated, almost 90% of Hispanics say they probably act to fight lung cancer. So I joined LUNG FORCE, to encourage the Hispanic community to take action,” Jorge Gomez said, MD, Professor of Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York, and member of Lung Cancer Medical Expert Advisory Panel of the American Lung Association. To support the initiative of these institutions, visit the pages {Lung Force;LUNGFORCE.org} or {American Lung Association;www.lung.org}.
