Men and women owners of McDonald’s restaurants throughout the tri-state area of New York are proud to celebrate the Hispanic Heritage honoring baseball legend Mariano Rivera, who won five World Series of major leagues, with the program of McDonald’s, Celebrando nuestras leyendas (Celebrating our legends). Now in its third year, the initiative pays tribute to Hispanic iconic figures whose influence is reflected in the popular culture of the United States.”With the McDonald’s program,Celebrando nuestras leyendas commemorates the heritage and cultural diversity of our customers, while we honor the contributions of those Hispanics whose influence has pushed the boundaries of their own community. The exemplary record of Mariano Rivera, both on and off the field of play, make him a legend. We are very proud to honor his legacy,” Tony Scari, owner of McDonald’s of Greater New York said.As part of this program, owners of McDonald’s will make a donation to the Church Refugio de Esperanza, a charitable organization selected by Rivera. This organization is committed to revitalize faith and support the community of New Rochelle, through family-centered programs. “I want to thank the men and women owners of McDonald’s of the Tri-State area of New York for this recognition and for their contribution to the Church Refugio de Esperanza,” Rivera said.
