According to a survey conducted in July, 2014 by BabyCenter, what most mothers do when reviewing their smartphones is to send text messages or enter social networks. Nine out of 10 mothers who use smartphones in the United States said they use their phones at least daily for texting, while 79% said they checked their social media one or more times per day. Thirdly, 42% of women with children under age of nine use games on their phones.BabyCenter noted that smartphones are a key way to keep mothers connected with the world. On average, they send 26 texts and 14 instant messages (via platforms like Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp) and access social media platforms 15 times per day. Meanwhile, smartphones were the most used among mothers to access their accounts in Twitter and Facebook, surpassing even traditional laptops. These mothers often reach different platforms and applications while dealing with multiple daily activities.eMarketer expects 28.8 million American mothers, including Internet users aged 18 and over with minor children, entering a social network from any device at least monthly this year, representing 85% of all mothers who use internet. eMarketer also estimates that 90.2% of these mothers will access Facebook every month and 25,7% Twitter.
