In celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September, 15th to October,15th, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), in partnership with the Ad Council will launch a national campaign of public service announcements (PSA) to give Hispanic parents access to the resources they need to help their children prepare, plan and pay for college. This initiative includes the participation of Adam Rodriguez and Edward James Olmos, and Univision hosts, Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas. Today, Hispanics represent 19% of all college students, ages 18 and 24, compared with 12% in 2008, what is more, 69% of Hispanic graduates now go directly to college after graduating from high school, a rate that is higher than the general population. This unprecedented increase in Hispanic pre-college students highlights the need to provide more information about college and financial resources than ever.”I feel very honored to be part of this campaign,” Adam Rodriguez, actor and member of the Board of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund Administration, said. “Higher education is a step in the comprehensive way to a successful future in this country, and I hope these ads equip parents to be the support system that their children need to go back to college,” he added.
