Marlena Peleo-Lazar, who served as creative director for McDonalds for 14 years, resigned this week to the popular fast food chain. Presumably the reason is because the pressure to reverse falling sales of the brand in the USA, Advertising Age reported. Peleo-Lazar, in her career in the company, had supervised the creative execution of the national and local marketing of the chain as well as the coordination and approval of thousands of creative pieces.It is known that the executive reported directly to Deborah Wahl, CMO of McDonald, who took that post in early March. Since joining the Golden Arches, Wahl has shaken some of the processes of marketing of McDonald, assuming a more direct supervision than her predecessor in areas such as relationships with agencies and associations between McDonalds and brands such as Disney or the NBA, according to Ad Age.Prior to joining the chain, Peleo-Lazar had long experience in agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, where she served as attached executive creative director, after a 22-year career at Leo Burnett. Today, the brand is looking for refreshing the global campaign look I love it, a creative idea of Peleo-Lazar, the reason why a rebranding pitch was made, which resulted selected Publicis, an agency of Leo Burnett.
